Hey Solent, I have wondered about that as well. As an avid Queen fan, I do not really question too much about the lyrics. However, the lyrics fit. Can you imagine singing along to Queen if the the lyrics were “Mister Centigrade”? Could it be they were appealing to the american audience? We will never know, one of lifes many mysteries!
