First of all, before I continue with this post, I have to recommend a link to you.
www.colliepaintings.com
It’s the website of Arlene Phillips who we met yesterday during our Über walk.
Arlene specialises in painting dogs, notably collies.
With poems, pictures and a Soliloquy, Arlene’s website is bound to touch your heart.
It was great to chat with a like-minded person, creative, artistic and local.
As soon as my Lady wife and I saw Arlene taking photographs of a particular vista, we could tell by the way that she was taking her pictures that she was an artist.
Anyway, do visit Arlene’s website at www.colliepaintings.com
So, on with this posting.
The Lady Wife and I had been treatening each other with this walk for quite a while
We’d done it before and we knew that it would take some effort… and we knew that we’d have to hit the Radox and maybe even the Deep Heat once we got home… if not then… then a spray or five of Deep Heat would definitely be needed the following morning somewhere!
We walked a total of around 8 miles along the cliff tops.
We were going to do the walk along the beach but thought it might be tricky with our Furry Son wanting to splosh around in the sea every few seconds.![]()
Anyway, we were just so lucky with the weather.
Even though it’s not officially autumn, it feels like autumn to me… to me it is autumn.
I guess the season sticks to it’s own calendar not some “official” man-made calendar. Wildlife don’t need an “official” calendar… they simply know.
This was a wonderful walk … out in nature… time just wasn’t relevant… it didn’t exist… it didn’t have to.
The beauty of the nature around us… the sea… the languid lazy way the sailboats floated on the sea… the kestrel hovering… occasionally flickering its wings to stay in one place before swooping down… the sun… the breeze… the energy of the walk itself… and of course the pub lunch at our destination
As usual I took way too many photographs… trying to capture that something that
I’m always trying to capture with my photography or my artwork… that elusive something…
Anyway, I’ve posted a few photographs here in thumbnail format, so to see a bigger photo, simply click on any of them. I’ve included some photographs I took before setting off.
